Protea Monochromatic by Lara Louise Karpeljuk – Proteas are my favourite flowers by far, that’s why I paint or draw them quite regularly.
This one started off as a pencil sketch, but because of the textured paper, I could not achieve the depth I wanted. Therefore I painted over it with some ink, which gives it almost a watercolour look with the pencil underneath still visible. The background is painted with acrylic paint to achieve the strong contrast.
The paper size is A3, artwork is unframed and framed images are suggestions only. Mixed media on paper (pencil, ink, acrylic).
