Elders information:

Found generally in drier inland areas it is a thorny vine growing in a zigzag fashion, very shrubby with oval shaped fruit when ripe. The leaves are tinged lightly brown, and it has small white flowers. Fruit is borne during summer, and only the yellow pulp is eaten when the fruit is split. The brown seeds are not eaten and are believed to have medicinal properties.
