  • Latimer Julee Outbreak Detail 3

Additional Information

Outbreak – Masses of tightly packed stripes of dried paint are not able to prevent errant strands from spilling free. Inspired by recent events surrounding Melbourne in lockdown where despite stringent measures for containment of the virus and, sometimes, the people continue to escape. Influenced by my passion for freeing paint from canvas and my process of exploiting the dried material in many different ways.

The work can hang on the wall or be a freestanding sculpture.

This work is fitted with D rings and wire for immediate hanging.  On the back, you will find my signature, initials, title, and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists). The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.

THE  LOCKDOWN COLLECTION

“Paintings that believe they are Sculptures”

Layers of dried paint that is surplus from my other artworks provide the starting point for these highly dimensional and uniquely sculptural works. This series, seen through the lens of a global pandemic, is a response to what would otherwise be discarded.
