Additional Information

Ah Jackson Pollock, you have to admire the man (and several other of his contemporaries) who achieved the ultimate in human commercial endeavour, i.e. how to produce something in a few hours that’s worth 10’s of thousands of dollars ! (Some shrewd gallery spruiking and probably some art world backroom deals helped a little). That was a bit tongue in cheek, I’ve got nothing against abstract art but you have to question some of the deep philosophical attributions and contrived commentary you hear in art doco’s etc., accredited to some of it. I never really got into the Sex Pistols either but it was a great album title and the neurons made the simple connection (Pollocks / Bollocks) and the conception of the painting flowed from there. I admit trying to get something resembling ‘Blue Poles’ was fun but I think I’d get bored pretty quickly if that was all there was to making “art”.
