Additional Information

The approach of Sung’s work is interpretation of relationship between human being and nature through process, materials, colours and shapes. Appreciation and gratitude for nature is the main motif for creating her work. The most of technologies invented mimic the nature when examining closely. However, the awe inspiring design of nature has not been credited as it deserved. Humans take it for granted although without it one cannot sustain life. She concentrates on how as humans appreciate and protect the nature rather than destroying it. This helps us as human beings take responsibility to protect it.

By observing people and nature, Sung notices shapes made by lights and darkness where she visualises organic lines and forms. She like to push the boundaries of beauty and creativity as reflected in nature because it displays perfect harmony of colours and shapes. Sung interprets nature through gestural lines and flow of colours in a more abstract manner by placing fragmented organic shapes. Sometimes, she incorporates human and nature in her work which reflects the relationship between the two.
