Morning Glory by Marg Watt – This beautiful vertical artwork has been painted on ecodyed paper created using the leaves and flowers of the Morning Glory vine  with copper sulphate. Each morning at the crack of dawn (literally) I walk to the gym for my daily sanity saver and fix of high impact rpm cycle classes. “Morning Glory” creeps along the fence line as I walk past and on my return home, the sunlight has started to open the flowers and a display of mauve gorgeousness is a feast for the senses. How can I resist?

When life becomes challenging I like to resort to the simple things I see. Beauty is all around us. All we have to do is open our eyes and look…and a little magic will happen.

This artwork combined two mediums I love to play with. Ecodyeing using 300gsm watercolour paper and copper sulphate to create the interesting botanical underlay and once “Cooked” in a boiler and cooled, I then drew the specimens from my morning’s walk.  Watercolour and pen finished the artwork with dots, dashes and squiggles adding a unique layer of interest and detail.

“Morning Glory” is beautifully framed and floated in oak. It has a recessed green mat surround to compliment the earthy tones of the paper.  It is framed using UltraVue 70 Art Glass for maximum clarity,UV protection and minimal glare. A framing winner in my opinion!

I can however, change the Art Glass to acrylic for ease of transport if a buyer prefers.
