Moody cow by Jules Baldwin

My Art is very much related to my imagination as much as it is to my love of nature and all the wonder that is to be found within
My mark making is a way to show the energy surrounding us all and I have found myself intuitively drawing with a sense of joy and freedom that has definitely become much more present in my work since arriving back from our trip around Oz. Forever intertwined with all there is, what I see and what I feel as I realise that my connection to nature has strengthened and with it my need to show all that is felt as well as seen informing my Art more than ever
Moody cow is part of the Moor’al series, a reimagining of many of the studies I painted for various different markets and venues as I was travelling. I have three cows in this colourful series, all of them representing the beautiful creatures we encountered on our many camping spots again. I love that I can finally make the space to ensure they are given the colour they deserve and the fabulousness we should all admire! If you have read this far then please let me know if you have a special cow you would like me to bring to life with colour, movement and texture, oh and Sass, they must have sass!
Moody cow comes from a place we stayed in DENMARK WA . We had decided that we wanted to spend some time on a working farm and there was a reciprocal agreement that if we worked for a couple of hours every morning we would get a free pitch for our caravan. It worked very well and I painted a lot whilst I was there. I helped out around the house whilst hubbie painted the outside for them . There was a herd of Murray cows very close to our caravan and we would hear them communicating with eachother every morning. I have taken many photos and it was one morning I came across this beauty, I walked too close to her calf and she looked at me as any mother would as if to say “don’t you dare” , needless to say I didn’t and she allowed me to take photos from a distance.
I sold 5 of my paintings to the owner and his wife by the end of this stay so it was lucrative and indeed a wonderful experience for us all.

Mixed media on MDF board with added timber on the back to hold the wire – This looks fabulous as it is however… This piece can be framed on request. Please contact help@artloversaustralia.com.au for enquiries and quotes.
