Waratahs are a flower I have used in my artmaking many times now. I enjoy their interesting shapes and colour, the foliage fans out in an almost iridescent green collar making for a striking still life. Teaming this with the black background and the muted grey paper really modernises the composition. A strong small contemporary Still life mixed media Collage artwork, a new and fresh approach to a traditional still life. I used watercolour on Arches A3 paper, then used the paper to create the collage to finish by painting the background with the black gouache. To finish off it was accented with a fine line of 3D gold paint. Once framed and matted they will make a beautiful, stylish and chic addition to any home. I enjoy chasing the light in the glass vases and the reflections in the shadows.
