Beautiful purple Lilac flowers from the garden, a red vase , French inspired pink decoupage paper and a tinted Winsor &Newton ; permanent yellow deep background. What a combination! WOW and it is a stunner. A strong small contemporary Still life mixed media Collage artwork, a new and fresh approach to a traditional still life. I used watercolour on Arches A3 paper, then used the paper to create the collage to finish by painting the background with the bright sunny gouache. Yellow and Purple of course being complimentary colours creating a strong contrast to the whimsical lilac flowers. To finish off it was accented with a fine line of 3D gold paint. Once framed and matted they will make a beautiful, stylish and chic addition to any home. I enjoy chasing the light in the glass vases and the reflections in the shadows.
