Organic forms are fascinating! And what fabulous surface texture and colours they possess. Wood, branches, leaves, stones, bones, shells, charcoal and on it goes. There is treasure everywhere! If it will fit on the scanner bed it gets the treatment. If it can be lifted it will probably be taken home. If it is too heavy it gets its portrait taken. I have scanned 96 Manchurian Pear leaves: their autumn colour is breathtaking. The stems are removed so the leaf sits flatter on the glass document table. Lots of stems there, lad! What to do? This was one solution. Twenty groups were scanned; ten made it through to the finals and here they are. Forest Pansy leaves in autumn livery add another element to the frenzy.
Software used: Adobe Photoshop for compositing.
