Little Kind of the Fairies by Nadya Neklioudova

Delicate, simple, detailed original mixed media painting by Nadya Neklioudova.

This gorgeous male Superb Fairy-Wren (otherwise known as Blue Fairy Wren) posed for me for a perfect photo opportunity before fluttering off, and I couldn’t resist painting him. To get all the fine details I used watercolour pencils, gouache and ink pen. He is resplendent in his detailed blue breeding plumage, pausing for a moment on an abstract brushed blue line – inviting you to admire him up close.

This painting is not yet framed, and will arrive on paper only, ready for you to frame as you wish.
You can either frame it approx. 23x23cm square, as seen in the previews, hiding the edges of the blue brush marks behind a mat – or you can have the entirety of the blue brush marks show if you wish to frame it as a rectangle (see last picture). I intended for the edges of the blue brush marks to be hidden, but actually it would look good either way.

This painting would fit well in a coastal, Scandi, or Japandi style decor – bringing Nature into your home in a very soft, delicate and charming way. It would also make a gorgeous gift for a loved one for an anniversary, or other special occasion.

I just can’t stop painting wrens!!
Luckily, it seems that fairy-wrens are most Australians’ favourite birds, too.
