Additional Information

Liberty by Kirsten Button – An original oil and acrylic painting on high quality canvas, varnished and ready to hang. This painting is one of a series depicting Australian birds in natural settings. The series titled “birds-capes” depicts birds that live in and around the suburb where I live. Birds in backyards is another title that describes the current focus of my work. Liberty captures the flight of the Crimson Rosella, its stunning contrasting blues and crimson are the focal point of the painting. A wash of colour across the leafy background emphasizes the movement of wings and feathers.

The painting uses a combination of techniques including stenciling and spray paint, washes and impasto, as well as a combination of  acrylic and oil paint. Varnished.

The name ‘Liberty’ is partly because of the red white and blue and partly because the Crimson Rosella’s flight, represents the freedom of the soul that is unbound by any conditions.
