Intrepid by Jules Baldwin

He recognises my face as a friend not foe, tilting his head as he listens for his lunch below.
Staying around for years to come marking his territory he knows me well
Ain’t that grand to have this little black and white friend!

I love Magpies, though they aren’t always everyones favourite bird due to their tendency to swoop, especially cyclists in Melbourne, I have many stories from friends of this happening to them! ( one particularly traumatised!) It has never happened to me however , we have a few friendly Maggie’s that often approach us as we are walking in the morning., one walks with us often, not at all scared , so funny! We came across many whilst we were travelling and found them to be beautiful and inquisitive creatures, greedy of course and will remember if you are nice to them, they recognise faces and other birds and have a great memory so studies tell me. They also will stay in an area for 20 years or more so very loyal. I would say these birds are often misunderstood much like some humans eh!
This Artwork was painted on Plywood and I rather like the rawness of the material without a frame but of course a frame is always available by request.
This small piece of Art would be a lovely present for a Magpie lover ( and there are plenty I hear) and will brighten up any area of the home.

Framed on request – Signed on the front – Authenticity Certificate included.
