The Hawksbill Turtle in outline invites the viewer to reflect on the turtles’ ability to camouflage within it’s surroundings and also to ponder a reef ecosystem without these turtles which are critically endangered.
The Sea Goldie or Pseudanthias Squamipinnis is a beautiful little orange fish species found all around the northern and mid eastern coast of Australia. They often congregate in large schools and can be seen flitting around the same coral reefs where Hawksbill Turtles feed.
Muted purple lilac and teal tones work together in a harmonious colour scheme to emulate the tranquil nature of reef life and give a sense of calm to the scene. Painted right around the edges on quality stretched canvas makes this painting stand out from the wall it’s hung on.
