I love it all, every detail and all the wonders that Mother Nature bequeaths to us in every corner in every garden throughout this land. This land that we travelled for so long and grew so close to the many wonders that can be found, in the seemingly insignificant and yet once a stone is turned we realise that nothing in nature is ever insignificant because it serves a purpose to enrich, to feed and to supply beauty, shelter and rejuvenation.
Using spontaneity and colour to create the form and line to contain it, I continually work to reveal the complexity and sheer beauty of each living wonder contained within nature, as I see it anyway..
Galah Galah was inspired by the many Galah’s we watched doing their thing whilst travelling, calling out to one another, so vocal and playful oh and did I mention noisy!! We stayed in Alice Springs for 7 weeks and each morning and evening hundereds of Galahs would descend on us, screeching and causing quite a stir, we have never seen so many birds in one place before and found it awe inspiring to say the least! I have so many photos but this one comes from a sketch of mumma and baby just chilling together amongst the hundreds of other Galahs on their evening visits.
I love their colouring, I mean pink of course I love their colouring…such beautiful creatures, even if they are a bit noisy, there is space for us all.
