This artwork reflects my love of peacock feathers in combination with my interest in pattern and stencil work. The background has been built up with beautiful flowing hues of teal, emerald and magenta. This has been contrasted with abstract leaf shapes and stencil work. Golden feathers have been created using impasto and lace moulds and these have been added to increase aesthetic appeal. Finally, a semi gloss coat of varnish has been applied to ensure adhesion of the impasto and produce a beautiful sheen over the entire canvas.
