Fairy Tales From the Glen by Cathy Gilday – One of my favourite things to paint are trees in a forest setting. In this story telling piece, the colourful shadows and fractured light, create the ambience of an enchanted forest glen. A fairy tale setting, in which the male figure is resting under a tree, entangled by the roots and greenery. The female form is Diana, the Goddess of nature.
I have used layers of colourful glazes, to achieve the lovely tertiary colours and have painted the piece in an impressionistic style.
