Additional Information

Eucalyptus by Rosemary Legat – I started with my still life sketch of delicate branches and a number of interesting shaped eucalyptus leaves.  Rather than paint my still life sketch I used the option of negative space painting with sepia coloured paint, on a base (intuitively created specifically for this piece) until the leaves and branches reflected in my still life sketch revealed themselves to me on my uniquely painted base.  This was followed by the addition of a few white markings for a little pop of interest and detail.

This original painting was created, along with ‘Eucalyptus Love’, to celebrate National Eucalyptus Day in Australia this year.  This painting is darker in colour and feel than ‘Eucalyptus Love’, but they make a cohesive pair due to the main colours and the same leaves being used in both paintings.

This painting is on 300 gsm paper therefore requires framing.  I have included a number of gallery photos to show this piece in different frames and hung in different spaces.  (Signed on the front).
