“Enchanted”is an Australian landscape painting which I have created in the impressionist style referencing the reflective pools of strong light and shade found within the Australian bushland and eucalypt forest which abuts my studio – a constant source of my inspiration. It invites the viewer to enter into a mystical world of gnarled and reaching trees, contrasting ground covers and mountain rocks.

The painting was drawn and started en plein air, firstly the wash is lightly laid down in watercolour and then completed in my favourite medium of the past twelve months – artist quality synthetic polymer (acrylic) inks, this time painted onto prepared cradled timber and coated with a protective varnish. The colours reflect direct sun hitting the greyish scribbly gums and eucalypts, the fresh vegetative floor and contrasting old wood.

I preference inks for this type of painting to achieve the flow of the shape of colours which is integral to my work.

The painting measures 40cm x 40cm x 25cm and is fitted with D-rings and cord, ready to hang. It comes with Artist Certificate of Authenticity.
