DESERT ROSE – BY GRACE BROWN

Original Aboriginal Dot Painting On Quality Canvas

This painting is the first of the Desert Wildflower Series by Grace Brown

SIZE : 152cm x 115cm x 4cm  – White Wooden Professional Framed – Ready To Hang

In most cultures around the world, the wildflower represents joy.

Did you know that Australia is home to over 24,000 species of weird and wonderful native plants! Well, it’s true.

Western Australia alone has more than 12,000 species of native wildflowers, more than 60% of which can only be found here and nowhere else on earth.

The six-month flowering season begins in June in the Pilbara, Goldfields and along the Coral Coast. By September, it moves south and reaches Perth, finishing with a flurry in October and November throughout the South West.

I have named this painting ‘Desert Rose’ although there are no native Australian roses indigenous to Australia. Species roses and their near-relatives originate from a wide range of habits spanning from the far north of the northern hemisphere to Africa & Middle East. Cactus and succulents are also not native to Australia but l have added them to symbolise that our friends and family are all made up from many communities and cultures, all coming together and making beautiful memories across our beautiful country.

This painting by Grace was inspired to show that you are not alone and there is beauty all around you moving in the breeze of life.
