Deconstructed landscape #6 by Ian Burgess.

This is from my ‘Deconstructed’ collection where I abstract the landscape including its rough edges, to tap into its raw elemental power and attempt to extract the rugged beauty, then push it, with energy using textured palette knife gestures and oil pastel marks.

I continue my quest for expressive colour relationships contained within my need to experience the ‘Joy of colour’ which is often revealed in strong saturated hues unencumbered by realism in shape or value.

This painting is created using thick layers of paint and glazing thin veils of translucent colour to only partially cover the previous layer so retaining its integrity.

This work took some time to develop by transferring my initial random shapes and colours into a sense of place

Join me as we journey into the world of joyous colours in abstraction and deconstruction.

~Layered artist quality acrylic and oil pastels.

~This is an original, one of a kind artwork on stretched canvas.

~The artwork is unframed with the edges toned and will look great from all sides.

~I have added a photo of the painting with a frame

~The painting is signed on the back with a certificate of authenticity.
