Cute as a Button by Leah Mariani – This painting is a homage to one of my favourite paintings. The mother and child are taken from The Three Ages of Woman (1905) by Gustav Klimt. In this rendition they are against a silver background and cloaked in a colourful cloth fabric on which are glued pink buttons for a decorative effect, hence the title Cute as a Button. The painting itself is on a symmetrically round board which mirrors the shape a button.
