Crossing the Desert is an abstract Australian landscape inspired during a road trip from Brisbane to Uluru. I was mesmerized by the landscape which at first seems monotonous, but then entrances and seeps into your soul. The silence, the vastness, the seemingly empty landscape populated by wild creatures that hide during the day and leave mysterious tracks overnight. It was a meditative experience watching the huge skies, the vibrant colours of the sands and dirt drift by in an endless procession of tranquil images. Stark, uninviting, even barre, but enormously soothing and surreal.

I took hundreds of photographs, just couldn’t get enough of the heart of Australia. This piece is a reminder of our animal nature, removed from civilization, oipen to the elemnets.
