Additional Information

Cassowary is an original acrylic painting by Michelle Gilks.  The cassowary is such an unusual, almost prehistoric looking bird.  They are known to be shy and elusive; often able to disappear into the bush before being seen.

This cassowary portrait was created as part of The Nature of Things exhibition in Fremantle, Western Australia.  The cassowary is captured with his head turned to the side, his eye appraising the viewer.  The orange, patterned background and the blue of the cassowary’s neck, make for a striking contrast.

This painting was created using the finest acrylic paints on thick stretched canvas.  All the edges have been painted to match the front, allowing for hanging without framing.  This artwork is wired, and ready to hang.
