Carlo Sand Blow is part of an oil Australian Landscape series that I made while travelling up the East Coast of Australia with my awesome partner. We had reached the midpoint of our journey at Rainbow Beach, QLD and decided to explore the local area. On our exploration, we stumbled upon this little trail to a place called Carlo Sand Blow. When we got to the end of the trail, it felt as though the entire world opened up from where we were standing to the sea. We took a few panoramic snaps but none of them really captured what I had of Carlo Sand Blow in my memory – so I painted it.

Carlo Sand Blow was painted on high quality Belgian heavy-weight linen. I cut a piece at  90cm W x 62 cm H to give it a panoramic feel.  Before painting, I stitched several pieces of fabric onto the canvas in order to introduce a bit more texture and detail to key areas. I am very happy with Carlo Sand Blow as it captures another memorable moment in time. If you ever get the chance to see it in real life, get amongst it and check it out.
