Blue Raindrops by Julee Latimer – Hard edge abstraction inspires an artwork that features minimalist design with maximalist pattern. Vibrant primary blueis joined by the striking contrast of black and white.

This work is fitted with D rings and wire for immediate hanging. The pattern continues around all sides, therefore, there is no need to frame. On the back you will find my signature, initials, title and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists). The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.

THE LINEAR COLLECTION

Rebellious paintings which take their initial inspirations from the precise geometry of hard edged abstraction and the repetitive simplicity of minimalism but blends them with the explosive pattern more often found in patchwork quilts.

Strips are cut from dried paint and laid by hand over the canvas sometimes with the addition of wallpaper. By painting a variety of abstracts on plasticized surfaces I am able to remove the works when dry enabling a choice of which side of the strips to show. Each finished piece is, therefore, a unique blend of the usually visible with the often hidden. The more they are looked at the more there is to see.
