This is another visit exploring an Art work which was completed in 2017 for my first Solo Exhibition, “The Painted Ladies” at Ten Thousand Paces Gallery Bowral. This striking artwork was created using a Art Model 6 ,live model book by Maureen and Douglas Johnson. Which when I haven’t had a chance to get to a life drawing session aI use this fantastic resource. The model strikes a pose of the classic introvert extrovert ; she wants to be seen but she doesn’t at the same time…
These ‘Colour Play’ artworks were inspired by some of my favourite Great Masters such as Toulouse Lautrec and Matisse. This piece is also a fun colour play using the complimentary colours of blue and orange and of course a little play on words! Its ironic that the “Blue Lady” does not seem very Blue at all but actually very self composed and assured of herself .. a little of that Vermillion Hue permeating perhaps?
