Babouches by Ralph A. Ledergerber – Photographer

Morocco has become a very popular tourist destination in recent years. There are many things to discover. Ancient medinas with narrow alleyways, old feudal Riads dating back hundreds of years, colourful mosaics, astonishing landscapes, a myriad of colours and of course the many cultural traditions. Walking through an old medina is like walking into a maze. There are countless little souqs (market stalls), each offering their merchandise. Moroccans wear their traditional footwear called Babouches. Displayed in a myriad of colours and embellishments. An award winning image.
