Additional Information

Atomic Love III by Jacquelyn Stephens – This is an original, one off, colourful abstract painting on canvas ready to hang on your beautiful wall.

These colours make me so happy. So full of life and joy. Subtle apricots mixing with warm earthy terracotta’s, greens and coral pinks.

In this painting there is a beautiful slightly textured surface where the colour underneath is just bursting to get through. The colours are soft and subtle and inspired by mini-worlds discovered in rock pools, shorelines, sea-washed pebbles. There is a touch of geology in the formations and varied colours seen in cliff/rock faces.

‘Atomic Love III’ continues in my fascination with the minutiae of life and aquatic themes.

It is inspired by my love of all things microscopic and in this case molecules, spots and atoms. The surface is quite textural and energetic which it makes for a stunning visual experience on the wall. It really draws you in and has a playful energy.

The artwork is also heavily influenced by POP art. The dots in the painting have a direct relationship with the dots used in mass media print images. This art series deals with lines of communication and literally puts print images under the microscope.

A long time ago, I started exploring newspaper photo images under visual devises such as magnifying glasses and microscopes. I then abstracted the dots I saw in paint, reproducing and manipulating the images by hand. The paintings became these crazy clusters of rhythmic vibrating spots and dots somewhat like what I imagine are pulsating through space all the time with the transmitting of information through the 21st century ether like molecules and atoms made real. This series is as much about seeing as it is about the process of making as well as the infinite visual possibilities contained within imperceptible things.

This painting really does represent a cross over between my passions for dot world, the natural world, all things microscopic, molecular worlds and especially seeing and looking.

This painting moves our eyes attention in and out of focus across the picture plane. Each dot is dependant on the next for its visual ‘pop’. I really enjoy that your eyes get to explore and discover so many different colours and dynamics, and subtle hidden shapes and textures within the surface. I hope it is a joy to your eye and the mind too.

Mostly, what I enjoy about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls a splash of colour and talking point for years to come.

ALL PAINTINGS ARE VARNISHED with Professional Quality Artists Varnish, once they have been photographed. This gives a protective surface and an exquisite sheen that really makes the colours powerful & eye-catching.

The painting is on canvas wrapped around traditional wooden stretcher bars with edges that are a smart 3.5cm deep out from your wall.

The edges are cleaned, staple free and painted a rich black to compliment the painting.

Ready to put on your wall with hanging wire on back.

Painting is signed and titled verso.
