“Among Giants – Shipyard” by Caib Kelly derives from my love of ships especially bulk carriers.  The giants are usually rusty and have a vast array of industrial machinery located upon their decks and superstructure.  This piece, as with several others I have painted, can, but not in all instances, be a compilation of ships, boats and marine craft that I have seen on my travels around the northern rivers region of NSW.  I bring these images together to create a story of these majestic hulks of the seas.  “Among Giants – Shipyard 2” represents my love of mechanical, industrial, architectural and man made structures that inspires me to present these amazing machines.  It is an original piece. Painted upon 100% handmade cotton with Daniel Smith, Holbein & Winsor & Newton pigments.  This painting is ready to be lovingly displayed as the purchaser requires and will hopefully be a lasting inclusion upon the wall of the new owner for many a year to come.
