Additional Information

I was inspired to paint this landscape of Kangaroo Island, recalling a holiday to this beautiful location in 2007. The 2007 Kangaroo Island bushfires were a series of bushfires caused by lightning strikes on 6 December 2007 on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, resulting in the destruction of 95,000 hectares of national park and wilderness protection area – 20% of the Island

Kangaroo Island is one of the world’s great natured based destinations. It lies off the mainland of South Australia, southwest of Adelaide. Over a third of the island is protected in nature reserves, home to native wildlife like sea lions, koalas, penguin colonies and diverse bird species.
