DAFFODILS

Oil, beeswax on canvas

56x56x4cm

Spring has sprung and there is always an unexpected array of flowers, which have been planted by farmers over 100 years on the property.

In my neo- expressionistic fashion, I am painting flowers as they bloom throughout the year.  Daffodils were amongst the first spring flowers. The negative space has special meaning and interest when I paint.

I paint on 10 oz canvas with a thick impasto of Langridge paint with beeswax which is applied with palette knife and fingers. The artwork has a sculptural feel to it.
