A Date With Lobster (Blue) by Katherine Whelan – Special Edition (1 of 1) Print, One-off only – During the global pandemic I decided to set aside time to think about who I have become & what I would like to be remembered for. This insight was to underpin my next series of artwork. The task turned out to be far more complicated and exhausting than I had anticipated. As a result, rather than falling down a philosophical black hole of the ego and the unconscious, I decided to take a step back and embrace my one stereotype that I have always admired. This series is called Water Is My Element and embraces one of the characteristics about myself that I admire – a love for food!. I am a Pisces. My element is Water. I am artistic, imaginative & very much a day dreamer. This artwork reflects the feeling of joy and ecstasy we can feel through taste and/or food. Food can transport us to another time, place, and state of mind.
