The mandala elements in this work are derived from my complex gradients; a photograph of a chrysanthemum and scans of watercolour paint. The background is made by combining complex gradients in different modes and degrees of transparency. The grid adds some structure to the chaos of the surface it sits on. Software used: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
