2023 Art Lovers Year in Review

2023 has been an action-packed year for Art lovers Australia. As we look back on this year, our artists and team have worked tirelessly to create and showcase incredible art pieces. From exhibitions, to art fairs, to magazine publications, to prime time television shows, plus a whole lot more, we are proud of our artists’ achievements and commitment, and grateful for the continuous support from our audience. Let’s take a moment to sit back and reflect on the wonderful things that happened in 2023, and look forward to an even more exciting year ahead!

Art Exhibitions

Art Lovers has curated and exhibited eight different shows across Australia this year!!!

After kicking off the year with the vibrant and powerful Fiercely Feminine exhibition, we continued to explore themes such as  colour, the natural world around us, as well as pure excess in the exhibitions to follow. Other stand-outs included Land, Sea, Sky (1st July – 12th August) in both Melbourne and Gold Coast locations and our current Melbourne exhibition, Smalls (1st December – 13th February). The Smalls exhibition is Art Lovers’ most daring achievement thus far. With over 50 artists and over 200 artworks, our Melbourne exhibition showcases a wide range of styles and themes of some of the best Australian artists. 2023 has also been a year of change, and after two incredible years, we also said goodbye to our much beloved Gold Coast Gallery.

Affordable Art Fair | Melbourne

For the first time, Art Lovers Australia participated in the international annual Affordable Art Fair in Australia’s cultural capital, Melbourne. AAF excels at bringing together the best of both emerging and well-established artists from galleries nationwide. Art Lovers Australia had fourteen of our fabulous artists exhibiting at the Fair, each showcasing their own unique styles and artistic essence. The stand out of the weekend was Queensland artist Franko, who sold all of his work. His Heroine series, exploring empowered femineity in a classic 1960s art-pop aesthetic, caught the attention of many as they strolled through the fairs 100s of artworks.

The Block 2023

2023 marks the 5th year we have been partnered,  as official suppliers, with Australia’s number one renovation reality TV show, The Block. This year, more fabulous artists were selected to feature on Australian prime time screens, including Martin Breeze, Rebecca Lam, Kim Rees, Angela Roskell and Michael Wolfe. Their artworks made the spaces feel like a home, and numerous have released print editions of their Block featured artworks.

Designer Event

Our Melbourne Gallery hosted its first annual Designer Event Evening. The event was a celebration of Australian Design and brought together Art Lovers from all over to engage in discussions on the current issues and trends in the industry. To add to the excitement, we were honored to have April Ossington, Editor of Grand Design and Home Design magazines, join us for a Q&A session for an incredible night filled with inspiration and learning.

Home Design Feature Artists

Every year, Art Lovers Australia gives their talented artists the incredible opportunity to have their artwork featured in popular publications such as Grand Designs and Home Design magazines. This not only allows for a wider audience to appreciate and admire their work, but also serves as a platform for them to gain recognition and exposure within the art community. With each issue, these magazines showcase stunning pieces from various artists, giving readers a glimpse into the ever-evolving world of home design and art.

This year’s list of featured artists included Amica, Karen Chappelow, Charli Savage and in the most recent issue to hit shelves, landscape artist Tania Chanter.

It serves as a testament to Art Lovers commitment to promoting and supporting our emerging and established artists alike.

New Artists

Art Lovers Australia is always on the lookout for new homegrown talent. We aim to nurture these artists, helping to take them to the next professional level. With over 100 new artists accepted this year, we are excited to welcome these new emerging and established artists to the Art Lovers family.
