The Block Artists – Art Lovers Australia
The first season of The Block aired back in 2003, and now art from The Block is something that you can own for your own home thanks to our artists, who were featured as The Block artists in 2019 and The Block artists in 2020.
We are proud to offer you the opportunity to not only see the art that has been featured in recent episodes, but also to own that art, too.
Art Lovers Australia
We are an online art gallery that gives space to artists that might not be seen in traditional galleries. Founded in 2006 by Nancy Donaldson and Jarrod Knight, Art Lovers Australia is not only home to some of The Block artists of 2020 but supports emerging and mid-career artists and we have a genuine desire to see them thrive.
Although Art Lovers Australia is recognised as one of Australia’s most comprehensive and successful online galleries, we have always seen ourselves as a bridge between artists and collectors, offering a marketplace where patrons can purchase affordable, original art, and artists can create pieces to sell, safely and securely.
Art Lovers Australia displays over 10,000 curated pieces of art from more than 500 quality artists. We offer our artists support, exposure, and the opportunity for income so that they can afford to pursue art full time. We know that our clients are often time-poor, wanting original art that fits the space, but not having the capacity to search it out in physical galleries.
If you, like so many Australians, have been inspired by the design and artistry of the renovations on The Block, then acquiring a piece of The Block artwork from 2019, or another piece by the same artist might be the finishing touch to your home décor.
Why Do We Love The Block?
Reality TV has a polarising effect on us. Some people love it, living vicariously through the trials and tribulations that are thrown at the contestants. Others find it distasteful, a vulgar expression of voyeurism. However, The Block seems to be something a bit different, a reality TV show that encompasses style and substance to produce interesting and inspiring viewing. But why, exactly, is that?
The basic premise of couples racing to renovate and style a property to sell at public auction is incredibly cathartic for many of us. If you were to win a large sum of money, the first thing you would probably do is spend a chunk of it on property. We love our homes – there is, after all, no place like home – and watching other people create beautiful, quirky and interesting rooms is both exciting and inspiring.
When it comes to The Block art, it is often the last piece of the puzzle that brings the themes and colours of the room together. It is the signature piece that is centre stage as a conversation starter, as the linchpin of the stylistic statement that the designers are making. Inspiration for our own homes can come from anywhere, but nowhere more obvious than when you are watching talented designers creating something perfect.
The Block Artists in 2020 and 2019
We are always excited when one of our artists gets exposure on any scale, and to have the opportunity to display art in a situation where it can be seen by potentially millions of Australians is hugely exciting. The artists who have been chosen to have their work included in the designs of The Block 2020 and The Block 2019 represent so many varied styles, themes, colours and motifs that we are sure you will find something that you love.
Some art from The Block 2019 is available as limited-edition prints of the originals featured on the show. These are available as small runs, often extremely limited, and in a range of sizes to suit your space. So, if you would like to buy The Block artwork from 2019, you can own a reproduction of your favourite.
Of course, the talented artists featured have many different pieces available through Art Lovers Direct – so if you are drawn to a specific style, technique or theme produced by an artist then why not check out what original pieces they have available?
