‘What I hope to offer in my work is what I seek in the work of others. I yearn to share the artist’s awareness of the delicate interplay of elements, to explore layers of technique and contemplation that are bravely abandoned by impulsive broad strokes of passion, to absorb the energy of the artist embedded in the canvas. I want the art in my home to remind me of the value of presence and freedom over thought and attachment. If my work can offer this experience, that’s a privilege for me. This, for me, is the intrinsic beauty and value of a painting.’
