Words like ‘joyful’ and ‘vibrant’ are used to describe Sharon DeSailly’s contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, bold multi-layered texture and an obvious love for nature, are recognisable elements in her style. As an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she easily finds the inspiration to paint daily, paying tribute to beauty in our everyday life. Sharon describes herself as a ‘scapist’, her sea and landscapes often favouring aerial views or deep perspective, engaging viewers to ‘be there’ in an almost tactile way. Walking a fine line between realism, impressionism and abstraction, her approach allows her creative freedom to paint any subject spontaneously and expressively. Her colourful gallery instantly transports us from vivid distant sunsets, to highly textured trees against intensely rich hues and powerful rock formations of outback Australia; to riotous cottage gardens and florals or to a flock of playful cockatoos. Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty and bring joy into the lives of collectors in several countries around the world. Her oil painting ‘Wild Donald Rooster’ now lives in Hollywood – I kid you not! She is a third generation Australian artist, exhibiting online and in art shows around the country.
