Artworks: 2
The quiet whimsical world Ross Morgan explored as a boy is the world that appears on canvas. From an early age growing up in the mid–north of South Australia, Ross enjoyed exploring the rural environment filled with creatures, abandoned structures, machinery and objects of yesteryear. He also practiced drawing, painting, and arts and crafts projects encouraged by his mother at the kitchen table.
Specialising in painting and drawing, he completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of South Australia in 2000. Since then Ross has been exhibiting in numerous solo and group exhibitions, art prizes and running an independent art studio.
Recently Ross won the 2019 – 2020 Raising Literacy Australia’s Emerging Author and Illustrator Mentoring Project. He is currently working on his first illustrated book, which is set to be published in 2020 through this project.
Inspired by the visual narrative Ross explores his work as a ‘series at a time’ and is focussed on creating a number of personal artworks for solo exhibitions. He has also recently completed a series of commercial commission projects for feature films, corporate events, and international art collectors.
