Rob Rek is a multi-award-winning professional artist and tutor, working from his studio in Brisbane.
His artworks are driven by the perfection and fine details of the natural world. The process of exacting the results he produces today, are skills which have taken many years of focused study and practice to refine.
Using only the finest archival materials available, he approaches many subject matters – But nothing has held his attention more tightly than the world of birds. Captivated by the freedom they represent as well as their ethereal beauty.

His practice has proliferated in recent years, this has seen his sought-after artworks acquired for private, corporate and government collections from every corner of Australia and across the globe.
He exhibits regularly in both group and solo showings, his artwork has been commissioned for children’s books, appeared on national TV in Australia, and has been recognized in many competitive art prizes across a range of categories.

His work “Rainbow Bridge” was the recipient of the People’s Choice award at the 43rd annual art awards held by The TYTO Regional Art Gallery.
In 2020 REK was the feature artist and guest judge at the Royal Queensland art Societies’ Biannual Exhibition.
In 2022 he was invited to tutor at the McGregor college of art in USQ Toowoomba.
In 2022 he cofounded Sage Creative Art Gallery at Portside Wharf in Brisbane.
