Phil Rolton, a highly respected Noosa based artist is a professional fine art painter with over 40 years creative experience. Phil studied Fine Art at East Sydney and Melbourne Gallery school under the tuition of John Brack.
Life drawing classes with renowned Australian artists, like Jon Molvig and John Brack attracted Phil’s spirited inspiration and determined critique to challenge his own artistic style and ability.

Phil has enjoyed the challenge of different mediums and styles, but over the past 6 years Phil ventured into photorealism art using watercolour, pen and ink on watercolour paper. This unique style of painting stemmed from his trade as a young man working as a photo-processor in the photogravure printing process for legendary magazines like Vogue & Vanity Fair. The necessary delicate skills developed his ability to work intricately with fine brush work.
Recently, while living in Noosa and after discovering the abundance of subject matters of natural and built environment, Phil produced his recent exhibition, “Paris – Noosa: Art, Environment & Realism.” This exhibition, held at Noosa Regional Gallery, delivered a mix of environmental and urban paintings of Noosa and Paris.
Phil continues to explore original styles and distinctive subjects to bring genuine pleasure and a deep appreciation of his finished pieces to art lovers.
