I have been doing photography for most of my life. I have been entering international competitions for the last 15 years and have about 200 international awards including numerous gold medals.
Artworks: 14
My introduction to photography came from my mother who was a keen photographer so I got my fist camera in my pre-teens. Over the years I upgraded cameras a few times. I did all my own film processing and monochrome enlargements. I switched to colour with the Agfachrome slide film which was relatively easy to process. After getting married and having a child time was limited so I resorted to colour print film. These days I shoot using Olympus digital cameras and do a lot of post-capture work using an old copy of Photoshop.
My interests vary from landscapes, street photography, travel, architecture and more recently I have been creating a lot of surreal images. Over the years I have done a lot of travelling and have spent time on all 7 continents and visited about 40 countries so travel photography has been a substantial part of my life
My attitude to images is if they don’t arouse an emotional response in the viewer then they have largely failed
I got interested into entering international photographic competitions after joining a camera club and am now a Grand Master of the Australian Photographic Society having amassed close to 3000 acceptances and around 200 international awards with a lot of gold medals.
