Pamela Mitchell has always been an artist but only became full time in the early 90s after her move to Greece to practice her art. After returning to Australia in 1995 this culminated in her first successful solo exhibition in Noosa. Since then there have been many joint and solo exhibitions and Pamela now tutors art groups and privately on the Sunshine Coast while continuing to paint full time.
Pamela has published art making articles and art demonstration articles in the Australian Artist Magazine issues 360, pages 48 -53 and issue 371, pages 12 -19 and the Artist’s Palette Magazine issue 143, pages 60- 67.
Pamela works in oils and acrylics mainly but also draws in charcoal and pastel. Her subject matter ranges from landscape to seascapes in a representative but not photographic way. She also works with figurative and portraiture. In short, whichever subject inspires her at that given moment wherever she is.
Her work is particularly noted for its strength and depth of colour.
