Nicola Coxon is an emerging Perth based artist specialising in Organic Digital Art and NFTS for personal or commercial screens.
In Oct 2021, she hosted WA’s first ever NFT Art exhibition “KINEKT” for over 200 guests.

Nicola’s digital art explores the age-old medium of paint. Her pieces provoke thought and curiosity whilst simultaneously invoking a sense of calmness. Drawing inspiration from the Australian landscape and distinctive colours of the outback, her artwork reveals how various chemicals and substances mimic our cosmos on micro, macro, and mega scales.
Coxon’s artistic exploration began in 2005 as she was nearing the end of her Fine Art degree and encountered a fascination with the interaction between paint, ink, and solvents in their fluid state. She “stumbled” upon something truly remarkable as she witnessed these unbelievable images flowing and changing right before her. This led her to the technique of pouring paint onto cellophane whilst capturing the ephemeral moments on an old HD video camera. In other words, the heart that forms her practise today.
Fast forward 16 years and the associated technology and equipment has come a long way. Nicola now films using a Sony A7 iii digital mirrorless camera in 4K with Macro lens. This allows for a more explicit attention to detail at a much higher level of resolution. She has also progressed to using petri dishes and syringes for a more controlled and precise application.
The footage is raw, unfiltered and in real time. These videos are paintings of its most pure, most abstract self.
