My passion for gardening has led me along the pathway to the joys of painting nature and flowers in particular. The subject matter is constantly evolving and it is shaped by my daily experiences.

Colour, shape, texture and light are all part of the composition of each painting, all that are quite different but all linked by the love of flowers. Each flower has its very own powerful personality. I love to see the character of a flower develop on my canvas, seeing how the petals twist and turn to create such loveliness through a bees eye view.
My large scale canvases are dominated by delicate blossoms, magnified to allow the viewer an intimate view of the details we so often miss. Planes of acrylic colour blend seamlessly together to convey the subtleties of tone and silky softness of petals.
I consider myself lucky to have two studios, one in my home in inner Brisbane and another in Tyalgum in the Northern Rivers of NSW. I find that the two very different environments inspire very different work. It is an absolute treat to be able to capture different light, attitude and pace of the beauty of the Australian landscape.
