I’m a printmaker artist and art educator based in the inner west of Sydney. I make my prints at Little Majestic, a thriving inner city warehouse.
I carve and print my linocuts by hand in my studio. Each print is signed and numbered, making up an edition of around 10 – 20 prints. I’ve been focussing on linoprinting for over 15 years. I’m best known for my images of iconic structures and places and most recently have been working on a series titled “Disappearing Traders”. The series pays tribute to long running businesses and the people behind them.
Originally from Goulburn, NSW, I also love getting out into the bush and in 2010 set out with my partner and 3 kids on an epic tour around Australia, carving and printing along the way. Recently I’ve been making landscape inspired peices, some of which you’ll see here.
I find carving linoleum a meditative activity and the printing process is a methodical, physical act. You can never be too sure how the piece will work out, but those “accidents” can be the best part !
In recent years I have been awarded the People’s Choice prize in The Blue Mountains Print Prize and the Edge, Art Award, sponsored by Inner West Council. I’ve been shorlisted for many awards over the years including the Burnie Print Prize, The Muswelbrook Art Award, The Silkcut Award, The Stanthorpe Art Prize, The Hornsby Art Prize and The Waverly Art Prize.
