I seek to convey the beauty or uniqueness of whichever subject matter I have chosen, mostly using watercolour or pastel . Most of my work is realistic.

I started drawing as a child and have always tended towards realism. My university major was plant and wildlife illustration and this consolidated this tendency. I work with most painting and drawing media, however, watercolour is my preferred media with pastel a very, close second. I love mixing beautiful colours in watercolour and the flow of paint on paper. With pastels, I love the luminosity and richness of colour that can be achieved. I seek to convey the beauty or uniqueness of my subject matter, whether it is plant, animal, person or landscape. I sometimes create abstract art and here my focus is on the interplay of colour and line, in the absence of realism.
