My art is a reflection of my victory over PND and the colours I choose are a reflection of my Indian roots.
I tend to lean towards contemporary impressionistic style of art. My artworks are inspired by beautiful Australian landscapes and other natural elements and are done in bright and vibrant colours. My artworks are always built up on three basic elements – texture, organic marks and floral elements. Luminous colours, bold brushstrokes and layers of emotions present my perspective of beautiful mother nature. I would love if the viewers of my art feel the same spiritual joy and warmth that I feel when I paint.
I create using multiple mediums – acrylic, oil pastels, charcoal, inks, modeling paste and simple colour pencils. Starting with a playful layer of colours, spread on the canvas intuitively, I alternate between mark making and acrylics until I have a suitable foundation to let the final image reveal itself.
A little extra fun facts:
1. I work as a full time IT consultant from Monday to Friday. Painting helps me to maintain a balance between my right and left side of the brain. ?
2. I am also a paper crafter and love to create mixed-media layouts. Quilling is another art form that I have dipped my toes in.
3. I have a small ritual of writing a prayer or positive words on the canvas. They form the first marks on the canvas. Even though they are not visible, I know that I am sharing something really special with my collectors.
