I have been painting for 25 years and my painting journey began in my home country of Scotland when I was living on the Isle of Mull of the West Coast of Scotland with my husband Michael. My studio looked out to the Atlantic ocean so I was constantly inspired by watching the weather approach from way out to sea which was where my love of clouds first came from. In 2009 Michael and I moved to Braidwood and bought a block of land just outside the town. I loved the dramatic change in landscape and immediately started working on local landscapes.
My colour palette completely changed to reflect the earthy tones of the landscape in drought as it was at the time. I generally do two solo exhibitions a year and squeeze in commisions if I have time. My work aims to create a sense of calm, of place and of home, reflecting the changing weather and its effects on the landscape around us.
