My practice is concerned with my home environment, possessions in still life, animals and the honouring of small natural objects I find on daily walks. I have painted landscape for years but it has taken so long to become accustomed to the huge vistas, unfamiliar colour and shapes and impossible skies of the Australian landscape, during 2020 I started to paint my local landscapes.
I have worked in most media through my career and currently paint in acrylic on board encaustic or watercolour.
I paint to commission and my animal portraits are a wonderful contemporary memento of treasured canine, feline and equine family members.
I have taught art in Australia since 2010 and run The Art Train in Cedar Creek, north of Brisbane; it is a teaching studio and workshop space set on 10 rural acres.
My work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in the USA, Canada, Bermuda, UK, Russia, the Caribbean, Russia, Australia and Poland. My work can be found in private, public and corporate collections. I have freelanced as an illustrator and designer.
